Name: Bear (formerly Poco)

Breed: American Quarter Horse (Mix?)

Age: 20(ish)

Size: 15.3 hh

Color: Golden dun with black points, dun stripe, and leg bars.

Gender: Gelding

Intake: Summer 2018 ″Poco” is a very sweet good natured older gelding. Don’t let his age fool you, he still has plenty of pep in his step and loves to get up and go, when asked of course.  He is a good and safe mount who always defers to not moving when in doubt about what his rider wants. He has a pleasant no-nonsense disposition and is a trail-horse extraordinaire! He has a really nice mind and doesn’t spook easily. If he does see something “scary” he just freezes and will move forward out of it with gentle firm encouragement. He currently rides barefoot and stays sound. He does have age-related soreness, so joint support supplementation is highly encouraged to keep him feeling his best. He stands tied patiently to groom, tack, and mount. He has impeccable ground manners and even gives puppy-dog kisses if you ask! He’s one-of-a-kind indeed!

 *** UPDATE ***

As of February 28, 2021 “Poco” has been ADOPTED! The wonderful Mills family came out to meet him and decided that he would make the perfect friend and adventure companion to their daughter Calista. It was love at the first ride! We are so excited for this awesome guy to have this little gal to look after, and for him to be lovingly spoiled by his new forever family! He has been lovingly renamed “Bear”, which is a name we feel perfectly suits that fluffy, affectionate senior gelding. We love you buddy, and we will miss you… but boy are we so excited for what the future has in store for you and your girl!
